Originally started and Incorporated in 2011, the CQ Mower Racing Club is a not for profit club dedicated to promoting the sport of Ride On Mower Racing in Central Queensland.
Mower racing is a spectacular community and family sport with highly modified Ride On Mowers reaching speeds of over 85kph.
In 2012 we leased some land in Yaamba and after 12 months work, now have a purpose built gravel / clay track across the road from The Royal Oak Motel in Yaamba, just north of the Caves. We run Test and Tune days on the last Saturday of every month (depending on the weather) and if demand requires.

We also host two rounds of the Queensland State Championships in May and October.
Our track and facilities are continually rated as one of the best in Queensland and Australia by visiting Clubs and racers.
Once your Ride On Mower is built, the running costs are minimal which makes it a very affordable sport for the whole family. We run classes for juniors and adults and in some cases, both Mum and Dad race as well as the kids. Obviously the juniors are restricted in engine size until they are old enough to compete in the open class. Racers are put into different classes based on their results from previous events to ensure everyone
races in a competitive category.
Although there are only 25 competing Racing Mowers in the Rockhampton area, there has been a huge interest in Racing Mowers over the past year and we know of 10 others that are currently being built in the CQ area. We have members from Gladstone, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Byfield and Yaamba.
We also have good social evenings at the track with Camp Oven cookups around the camp fire.
